What will the diagnosis contain?
A structured financial diagnosis of the business, built from its accounts in FinSighter:
- Health score by area and key indicators
- Prioritised findings, each linked to the action points that address it
- Margin waterfall and margin by sales channel
- Around fifteen ratios over three financial years
How will WinSighter analyse margins and prices?
A dedicated tool will break down margin by channel and profitability by product, simulate the effect of a price increase and test a different channel mix. The result will directly become a costed action point.
What about cash and working capital requirement?
The Cash & Working Capital tool will set targets for customer, supplier and inventory days, and calculate the cash released, based on the aged receivables balance and inventory by product family. The chosen targets will feed into the action plan.
Is WinSighter available?
Not yet: WinSighter is in preparation. You can be notified of its launch via the beta form.
How will recommendations be costed?
Impacts will not be entered by hand: each action point will be costed by the financial year model, as the difference from a ‘current trend, no action’ scenario. You will see its effect on profit, EBITDA and cash.
How do you choose the right action points?
Action points will be ranked in an impact / effort matrix. An optimiser will test the possible combinations under your constraints (target debt level, effort, investment) and propose the best plan; a value bridge will show the contribution of each action point.
How will implementation be tracked?
Each action point will have a status, an owner, its assumptions and its notes. Monthly tracking will compare actual results with the targets of the selected action points, with the gains achieved and a twelve-month roadmap.
What will the client report contain?
It will be generated from the diagnosis, the selected action points and the chosen scenario, and will print as a PDF.
Which scenarios will you be able to simulate?
A slider-driven model of the financial year will recalculate the income statement, working capital requirement and cash month by month. Saved scenarios will be comparable with one another, along with their sensitivity to assumptions.
What is the stress map?
It will combine two shocks, for example a drop in volumes and a rise in raw material prices, to show the zone where bank commitments hold and the zone where they break.
Will WinSighter help prepare a file for the bank?
Yes. When a bank covenant is at risk, WinSighter will prepare a waiver request: situation, causes, action plan, projections, stress tests and commitments.
How will sector benchmarking work?
Each ratio will be positioned within a panel of companies in the same sector: gap to the median, quartile and three-year trend.
Why compare a business with its sector?
To give the figures meaning: the same margin can be excellent in one sector and weak in another. The comparison shows where the business is falling behind and where it stands out.
How do you identify clients who need advice?
The portfolio will rank the firm's clients by financial health score, with their main signal. WinSighter will detect situations that justify an engagement and turn them into an engagement in one click.
How will WinSighter track engagements?
Each engagement will have its stages, its budget in days and its fees. Engagement templates will speed up the start, and a dashboard will measure the value created for the client.
Where will the clients in the portfolio come from?
From the firm's files: the companies managed in FidSighter whose accounts are read in FinSighter.
Will figures have to be re-entered in WinSighter?
No. WinSighter will be fed by FinSighter: it will work on the same file, with no re-entry. The history of diagnoses will be kept.
Will the client be able to follow the plan?
Yes. The client will approve the proposed action points and exchange with the firm in a discussion thread specific to each action point. The business leader will then be able to follow the selected plan in BizSighter.
Who will see what within the firm?
The firm's permissions will determine who can access each file. The portfolio, engagements, fees and internal notes will remain internal to the firm.
Will it be possible to query WinSighter in plain language?
Yes, with IntSighter's advisory agent: it will answer from the file's data, for example on the effect of an action point or a scenario.
