What is BookSighter?
The business's own space in InSighter, opened at the invitation of its accounting firm. It brings together:

How is the business's space opened?
At the invitation of its accounting firm: the firm creates the space and invites the business. Both then work on the same file.
Is BookSighter available?
Yes, in beta. Sign up via the beta form.
How do quotes, orders and delivery notes follow on from each other?
Each document takes over from the previous one, with no re-entry: an accepted quote becomes an order, the order a delivery note, and then the invoice.
Can I do without quotes or delivery notes?
Yes: the three steps can be uncoupled in the settings. A business that invoices directly only sees what it needs.
How are invoices numbered?
Continuously, with no gaps or duplicates.
What is the structured payment reference?
The Belgian payment reference, in the format +++000/0000/00000+++. BookSighter adds it to every invoice: it helps match the payment received to its invoice.
How is VAT applied?
According to each client's VAT regime: the rate and the wording on the invoice follow their situation.
Does BookSighter send invoices over Peppol?
Invoices are ready for the Peppol network: structured payment reference, VAT according to the client's regime and the client's Peppol identifier. Sending through a certified access point is not yet in place.
Is payment matching automatic?
No. BookSighter suggests matching a payment received with the invoice it settles, and you confirm. No payment is matched without your approval.
Are reminders sent automatically?
Never. BookSighter prepares reminders for overdue invoices and you approve them line by line before anything is sent: a client with whom an arrangement is under way does not get a reminder by mistake.
What does the thirteen-week cash schedule show?
The collections expected over the next thirteen weeks, week by week, based on outstanding invoices.
What does the analysis by client show?
For each client:
- Their profitability
- Their actual payment time
- Their share of your revenue
Why track revenue concentration?
Because a business that depends on one or two clients is fragile: if one of them pays late or leaves, cash flow suffers straight away. Concentration shows it in time.
What does the accounting firm see?
What the business sees: the same invoices, the same collections and the same reminders, with no exports or file transfers.
Is BookSighter connected to the other applications?
Yes: it works on the same file as the other InSighter applications, and what you enter once is used everywhere.
Which languages does BookSighter support?
French, Dutch and English. Each user works in their own language.
